When to use glass-lined heat exchangers or glass lined equipment for heat and mass transfer?

Glass-lined tubes as heat exchanger tubes: what a strange idea! Glass is one of the materials with the worst heat conduction coefficient, so using these tubes for heat exchangers is surprising.

However, besides their bad heat transfer capabilities, other specificities, such as corrosion resistance or surface purity, or non-sticking properties, may be needed for the good progress of the process.

To meet these requirements, Pfaudler is offering a range of heat and mass transfer solutions, such as SCO and ASPAX heat exchangers, but also glass lined heat and mass transfer equipment such as wiped film evaporators, as well as conical dryer blenders.
