Pfaudler's test facility, located in Rochester, NY, can be used to demonstrate many applications which utilize Pfaudler alloy equipment and process designs. Though process simulation is an extremely useful tool, it is not always possible due to the lack of physical property data on unique materials. Pilot Testing is used to generate real process operating data used for scale up, generation of samples, and complete demonstration of equipment.

The facility at Pfaudler is home to various types of evaporators, vacuum equipment, heat exchangers, pumps, columns, and more which can be custom configured to prove your process objectives are possible. We run feasibility studies, simple one day tests and toll campaigns which can go up to two weeks.   • Thermal oil system with 100 kW output for operation up to 650° F (343° C)
  • Vacuum system capable of operation at 0.001 torr
  • Temperature controlled water circulation loops and cooling water
  • Steam boiler capable of 1000 lb/hr at 125 PSIG
  • High level of instrumentation to monitor and allow steady control of various pressures, temperatures, flow rates and weights
  • PLC control system with PC which allows for snap shot data capture and historical trending
  • The process area classification is Class I, Div. 1, Group C & D
  • Mechanical engineered air ventilation system
  • Lab for analysis of samples during pilot tests which includes a gas chromatograph, instruments for simple titrations, room for your analytical instruments if required
  • Steam and thermal oil jacketed/traced pipe for high melting point products
  • Facilities to handle 5 gallons, 275 gallons, to tanker trucks of material
