Thermal Fluid Heating/Cooling Systems

Heat Transfer Systems

Pfaudler Heat Transfer Systems (HTS) are custom designed Thermal Fluid Systems (TFS) for heating and cooling applications for the pharmaceutical, chemical, biotech, food, flavor & fragrance and nutraceutical industries. We provide systems to service alloy, glass-lined or plastic-lined reactors, tanks and heat exchangers.

A thermal fluid system is designed to utilize a single heat transfer fluid such as glycol, synthetic organic, synthetic silicone or even water. This “Single Fluid” technology has many advantages:

  • Continuous Temperature Control (No Loss of Control for Utility Changeovers)
  • Batch-to-Batch Repeatability, Higher Batch Quality and Yields
  • Thermal Shock Protection for Glasteel Reactors
  • No Cross Contamination of Building Utility Fluids
  • Easy to Operate
  • Reduced Jacket Corrosion/Fouling

Our thermal fluid systems are designed to operate as low as -100°C or as high as 370°C.

We design our systems to operate using your central plant utilities (e.g. steam, cooling water, etc.) or we provide the utilities with the system (electric heat, chiller, etc.).

Pfaudler designs all its Heat Transfer Systems to provide ±1°C temperature control. We use our own proprietary computer program to accurately predict heat transfer in reactors and design the Thermal Fluid System for optimal performance. We also help you choose the most appropriate heat transfer fluid. Our controllers include “Delta T” controls to prevent thermal shock damage to glass-lining.

If you have a Pfaudler glass lined reactor coupled with a Pfaudler Heat Transfer System, we will guarantee the thermal performance.
