Engineering Studies and Process Simulation![]() Typical Project Manuals Occasionally, customers require a more in-depth specification of their process than what is typically generated in a firm Engineered System’s quotation. In these instances, a detailed Engineering Study may be recommended to supply additional information and provide increased confidence in the Pfaudler proposal. For newly developed processes, this study may be linked to pilot testing. Test results can be evaluated and equipment specifications modified to handle the actual vs. the theoretical operation. Pfaudler Engineered Studies are tailor made to suite the customer’s requirements. Typical Study deliverables may include:
![]() Rochester, NY Test Facility Process SimulationWe at Pfaudler use both the latest commercially available computer simulation programs, as well as our own proprietary in-house software to aid in process and equipment design functions. Hysys® is employed to develop preliminary process flow information and provide initial operating parameters for tests in our Rochester Test Facility. Aspentech’s HTFS® design software is employed for unique heat transfer applications (ie. highly corrosive material heat transfer, high vacuum condensation, viscous liquid cooling). In-house software aids in the design of reactor heat transfer systems (TCM’s) and Wiped Film Evaporators (WFE’s).
